Nissan Philippines updates the Nissan Almera

Nissan Philippines has updated the Nissan Almera subcompact sedan, giving it not only a new front fascia to make it resemble the current design of the Japanese carmaker across nearly its entire product line but also by producing a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder model that's perfect for fleet deployment.
Up front, a new front bumper, boomerang-shaped headlights, and a bolder front grille dominate the design while out back, a new rear bumper with black diffuser cladding and a large lip spoiler complement the sporting look of the newly-designed 12-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, a new center cluster layout with a piano black finish add to the premium feel and look of the cabin with the leather-wrapped steering wheel and seats in the range-topping VL variant.

Produced in Nissan Philippines' Santa Rosa, Laguna plant, the new Nissan Almera is reportedly 30% more affordable to maintain than its pre-updated version thanks to the use of upgraded, high quality parts and technology, "which lengthens the intervals between periodic maintenance service (PMS)."

While the same 1.5-liter, 99PS (98hp) and 134Nm of torque  four-cylinder engine soldiers on in the engine bay of the new Almera, a new 1.2-liter, 79PS (78hp) and 106Nm of torque three-cylinder engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission is now available for the base variant, "ensuring maximum fuel efficiency, without compromising driving pleasure."

The new Nissan Almera is now available in five different variants:

1.2L M/T - P630,000
1.5L E M/T - P726,000
1.5L E A/T - P762,000
1.5L V A/T - P845,000
1.5 VL A/T - P880,000.

It is also available in Brilliant Silver, Alpine White, Bluish Black, and Titanium Grey.
