Mitsubishi Philippines now accepting reservations for all-new Mitsubishi Montero Sport!

The battle for the local midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) market will be a busy one next year as Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has announced that it is now accepting reservations for the all-new Mitsubishi Montero Sport.

Mitsubishi Philippines made the announcement on its Facebook page, saying that a reservation fee of P20,000 for the next-generation SUV will be accepted until January 24, 2016. The even-better news is that besides making the early-bird buyers one of the first owners of the Montero Sport upon its launch in early 2016, they're also entitled to a pre-order savings of P60,000.

Although Mitsubishi Philippines have yet to reveal the price tag of the Montero Sport, it did reveal on the NewMonteroSport.ph website the specifications of the SUV, like its Euro 4-compliant 2.4-liter Clean Diesel aluminum engine that has an output of 181PS (179hp) and 430Nm of torque and is paired to either an eight-speed automatic transmission with manual mode or a six-speed manual.

For the beaten path, the all-new Montero Sport is equipped with an electronic dial-operated Super Select 4WD-II with Off-road Mode and the Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control systems. Climbing up and clambering down hills also won't pose a problem to the SUV thanks to its Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist systems. And then there's its claimed 700mm wading depth.

Mitsubishi also made sure the Montero Sport's occupants are safe at all times by fitting  the SUV with seven SRS airbags, a Brake Assist System, a Front Collision Mitigation System, a Blind Spot Warning System, a Reverse Camera, and an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution.

In addition, Mitsubishi anticipated that Montero Sport owners might occasionally attach a trailer to the vehicle, hence the addition of a Trailer Stability Assist system.

Four variants of the Montero Sport will be offered at its launch: the 2WD GLS and GLS Premium, and the 4WD GLS and GT. Only the GLS 4WD though will be equipped with the manual gearbox.

So, which Mitsubishi Montero Sport variant will you be getting?
