7th National Scale Modeling Competition

The International Plastic Modelers Society – Philippines/Bert Anido (IPMS-Philippines/Bert Anido) will be staging the 7th National Scale Modeling Competition at the Atrium of SM Megamall Building A, from November 16-22, 2009.

Contestants from all over the country will, once again, go head to head in a contest of scale modeling excellence. The nation’s very best in the categories of aircraft, armor, ships, automobiles, figures, dioramas and science-fiction will be decided in this week long event.
The exhibit will be open to the public and is free of charge. Those who wish to enter their work can log on to www.ipmsphilippines.com for free online registration which will begin on November 1, 2009. This event is backed by Lil’s Hobby Center, SM Megamall, Gadgets Magazine, SPEED Magazine, Clickthecity.com, NU 107 and 103.5 Max FM.

IPMS-Philippines was established in 1968 by a small, tight-knit group of scale modeling enthusiasts. More than forty years later the club has grown into a respected member of the international scale modeling community due in no small part to the ingenuity and skill of the Filipino. In 2003, shortly after the death of its founding member, business executive and Air Force Reservist Bert Anido, it was decided to name the club in his honor.

The club meets on the second Sunday of each month, alternating between the clubhouse at 15 West Capitol Drive, Pasig and the College of Fine Arts in UP-Diliman. To begin your own scale modeling journey, log on to the club’s website: www.ipmsphilippines.com.
