BMW Sauber sticks with Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld for 2009

Was there ever any doubt, what with the limited number of available drivers in F1's shallow talent pool at the moment coupled with the lack of breakthrough drivers in this season's GP2 series?

But with this announcement, if the rumors of Alonso still looking to leave Renault for another team next season are true, then that only leaves Honda as the team with enough cash and leverage to attract his services. And considering Honda's misfortunes this year are even worse than Renault's, it's more likely Alonso will choose the lesser of two evils, and that's another year with a lackluster Renault while clinging onto the hope that next season's new rules will put everyone on an equal level.

Yeah, right...
